When you assign a slab to a job but don't use all of it, you can create a remnant for the remaining piece(s). You should do this directly from the Job.
- From the job, click on the allocation
- Click on the serial number
- Click on +Remnant
- Enter the size of the leftover remnant and click Save
Creating a remnant adjusts the size of the allocation to the job:
If you view serial number details, you'll notice that a new serial number is created for the remnant and that the original piece balances to 0:
